collage print for a cause
From the “Stories of Our Community: Collaborative Collage Workshop”, these prints were made with community in mind, focusing on settings where loved ones and neighbors tend to gather.
Participants collaborated on these collages under the direction of Lo Marie. They were then scanned and finalized digitally by Lo, resulting in a unique open edition 9×12 prints.
Prints are available via the Elephant Room Gallery website until June 30th, 2026 only! Please allow 2 weeks for pickup/shipping. 100% of the profits from print sales will be donated to The Night Ministry - a Chicago based nonprofit whose mission is to provide human connections, housing support, and healthcare to those who are unhoused or experiencing poverty. Please allow 2 weeks for pickup/shipping.
In 2022, Loren Marie Brunson (aka Lo Marie) was one of three artists selected for "Featuring Us," a program aimed at inspiring the Chicago community in partnership with Joe Freshgoods and 1800 Tequila. Since then, she has continued to showcase her work in various exhibitions and lead collage workshops. Lo is also the Multimedia Editor and a Co-curator with Chicago Collage Community, a collage group that strives to connect and uplift the diverse array of talented artists in the greater Chicagoland area.
Childhood memories of visiting grandparents, the incarceration of her brother, and residing in the city prompted Lo to reflect on lived experiences through collage. Over time, she developed a signature style in which all subjects in her work wear black or white masks. Through these masks, race is used as a symbolic expression of our collective experiences under capitalism.
Building on this artistic direction, Windy City Tells (WCT) was founded in 2024. WCT is an e-zine that depicts diverse accounts of life in Chicago, current events, and pop culture. It was created to shed light on social issues within the city’s many communities. In April of 2026, Lo debuted her solo exhibition "Windy City Tells". This exhibition is an extension of the e-zine's concept, shedding light on the issues of economic disparity while highlighting the beauty of the people in Chicago - fostering reflection and dialogue among viewers.
